Elena attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, earning a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. She went to graduate school at Duke University Medical Center where she earned her Physicians Assistant Certification and Masters in Health Sciences. Elena is knowledgeable in a wide range of medical and surgical dermatology with interests in psoriasis, hair loss and skin cancer.

She has been with Pinehurst Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Center since 2005 and practicing Dermatology for over 20 years. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), in addition to being certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
